I finished my book and travelled through Vietnam to Cambodia and back. So now I will probably draw more.

I got a job as a children illustrator! That's a dream come true, but now I have to draw lots of stuff (like book characters, food, vehicles und so weiter) and don't really have time to live properly, ugh.
It's fun though, I have to draw things I've never drawn before, upgrade my skills (probably)

If it's okay with my publisher, I'll share some works with you, my DA watchers.
(I'm still trying to work on my Logurt comics, but work takes all my time...)

I got stuck with my doujin - plot ideas are all "I've seen it in Japanese comics, like, 10000 times" and that creeps me out. I thought I was kinda well with emotional stuff.
Listening to music doesn't help (it usually does).
Probably it's because here in Hanoi it's fun, and ARGH! I can't even describe how good Hanoi is. It's like every little colour combination I've ever dreamed of and it's moving, almost breathing...

What you, DA guys do for an inspiration when the idea is on the tips of your fingers and you just can't catch it?

And do you guys do freelance drawings? I'm kinda sorta freelancer, but I've never tried any foreign projects...um, would it be very arrogant to ask about your experience (and, probably, useful links)?

Since October 29th I'm living in Hanoi, Vietnam and we haven't got Internet in the campus yet. It's really hot, but fun here, I hope my education will start soon.
Um, I'll brobably go in hiatus with the art for now. I've tried to draw stuff here, but I all I got is scrap. D: I mean, I won't stop drawing, but with all Internet problems you won't be seeing this shit, lucky you. If anyone would miss it, anyway^^

asked me: "what has your last year been like?"
"Friggin' awesome" would be too short for an answer, so here are some details: I started learning Vietnamese about two years ago and visited Vietnam (mostly Hanoi actually) previous autumn. I can't imagine any place more beautiful than that city and right now I really want to go back. Apart from culture and amazing people, Hanoi has an atmosphere of pure comfort, like everything around you exists just to make you happy. Er, of course, there were problems and bad days, but in general it was so good that me and my group were yelling "Arrgh!" in airport when going back to Moscow.
Before that I had a wonderful experience of Italy where my mother and I went on a summer vacation. We decided to be grown-up girls and go all by ourselves without guides and tours. Because with people telling you what to do and see it's really boring. Like in Disney's "Mulan": "We feel a lot like cattle".
Italy is one happy country, very sunny, very noisy, like festival all year. And VERY delicious food. I mean, it's like you can swallow your tongue along with it, it's that good. And I'm in love with Florence and Venice. Because I'm boring.
Rome is huge and ancient, but Florence is cozy and Venice has something watercolor in it. They have more story than history and Rome is the opposite. I love history, it's just too much of it.
Annddd! We managed to visit Ischia! It's an island in Italy, several little towns on a seaside and in the mountains. Oooh, the mountains.
Apart from being crazy traveler, I had university 24/7. I'm on a faculty of Oriental studies and it's amusing, but too tiring. Too. Much. Information. For this one little head.

Today there is a holiday in Vietnam. On 30 April 1975 Saigon has been set free and war has come to an end.
To my mind, it doesn't matter who was against who, the main thing is that the killing ended.
So, congratulations to those who care.

And in my country holidays will begin tommorow on May 1. It will be so-called "Labour Day", but, surprisingly, the whole country'll do nothing.
It amazes me each year.

And I'll have my own Big Day. Me and my brother are going to the pet shop for a new friend.

It's amazing how simple things can be magical if they're done together. Drinking cofee or street walking, or even shopping.
I hate shopping. All this "Oh my god, do I look fat in this? And in this?".

In Russia, we usually have long, cold winter. But. It. Is. Just. October!!
There are still yellow and red (even green!) leaves on trees, green grass, even last flowers. And now it's snow all over them.

Weather is strange lately, don't you think? So hot in summer, summer-like september..and now snow! What's nexr, mr.Broadcast?

My beloved one says that "I wish it was summer already". Summer like that? Do not want! He-he.

Teaching us Vietnamese in universuty, our teachers inspire us being interested in Vietnamese culture, such as their amazing paintings, interesting music (their guitar music is really beautiful) and puppet theater.
Also, there is vietnamese sites too, so now we have connection not only to their past, but also present. You know, their rock music is unusual, but harmonious. There are band named "The Wall" and their solo has an amazingly strong voice.
I was also shocked by their photographer Thái Phiên, whose photos can take your breath away. He does photos of everyday life like "children at scool" or "talking mother and father", but it's so...i don't know, calm and still full of energy!
